Veitch Attends Skidmore's 'All-American Barbeque'

SARATOGA SPRINGS-Matthew Veitch, candidate for Supervisor of Saratoga Springs, today met with students and the general public alike at Skidmore’s first ever All American Barbeque, which was sponsored by the Skidmore Young Republican Assembly (SYRA).  Accompanied with his appetite for stimulating conversation and hamburgers, Veitch took the opportunity to discuss the Conservative Challenge Week’s events, outline his plan for the city and enjoy some classic barbeque fare.

“I relish chances like this to meet the students of Skidmore College,” said Veitch.  “The conversations that I had today made it clear to me how beneficial it is to simply meet with the students and discuss their specific issues. “

The barbeque was the conclusion to a week full of events and programs geared towards promoting civil awareness and debate and sharing Conservative ideas and beliefs with both the Skidmore and Saratoga communities.  Movie screenings, speakers and an information table helped to spread the SYRA’s message and provide students with new views to supplement their educational experience.

“Having Matt stop by for our barbeque was a great way to end our successful week of interesting and informative events,” said Tom Qualtere, President of the Skidmore Young Republican Assembly.  “Matt has made it clear that he wants to be in touch with all members of the Skidmore community and the City and I am confident that his message will grow further and resonate from now until Election Day.”

"Skidmore is an important cultural center of this City,” added Veitch.  “This was truly an enlightening experience for me.  It is good to see intelligent debate happening at Skidmore, because that is how we come to best solutions to problems.  I look forward to meeting more of the students, and continuing to travel around the city, discussing more issues that are important to all residents.”
