Veitch Participates in Walk to Benefit School For Disabled Children
VEITCH ATTENDS 7TH
ANNUAL STROLLER DERBY
Matthew Veitch, candidate for Supervisor of Saratoga Springs, today joined
hundreds of fellow citizens at the Stroller Derby, an event that raises money
for the Newmeadow Saratoga School. Veitch took the opportunity to express his
desire to help special needs children and their parents and give them the help
and support they need.
“As the father of two autistic sons, I understand the challenges that exist
raising and caring for children with special needs and making sure they get the
best possible education” said Veitch. “To say that the issue hits close to home
for me would be an understatement. Being elected Supervisor would allow me to
bring my knowledge and passion on the subject to the entire county and help so
many families that need assistance.”
Veitch has a definitive plan that would help special needs families in Saratoga
Springs and Saratoga County. Enhancing the existing Early Intervention program
will ensure that each child receives the appropriate level of services from the
County. Veitch also supports the creation of a Saratoga County Autism Council
that would bring together experts in the field, teachers, parents and elected
leaders to give families the tools they need to help their special needs
children.
“There are some small changes that the County could make that would have a huge
impact on the lives of many families in the area,” added Veitch. “I will
continue to be an advocate for new and improved teaching methods and additional
training for teachers and other related professionals to provide the best
education possible. I know that with concerned community leaders like the ones
gathered here today, we can accomplish our goals.”
